Writer: Yash Gandhi FoundationYash Gandhi Foundation

Today, the Yash Gandhi Foundation is beyond excited to announce that a research grant in the amount of $100,000 has been awarded to Drs. Richard Steet and Stuart Kornfeld for I-Cell Research. This grant will be used to conduct research to understand respiratory infections in children with I-cell disease. Dr. Steet and Dr. Kornfeld will utilize the CRISPR genome editing technique to attempt to produce GlcNAc-1- phosphotransferase at the normal physiological level and to investigate the role of Cathepsin Proteases in the lung pathogenesis of Mucolipidosis II.

Awarding this grant would not have been possible without the multitude of you who continually believe in and support the foundation. With the dedicated support of all of you, we are able to continue awarding research grants every year. Currently, YGF has no other organization that matches funds to make our dollars go further, but we are able to sustain the giving of research grants.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your ongoing support of YGF.
